FAQ

When is iCandy open?

Studio Hours are the same as our class times. The studio is not open outside of class times. Please refer to our Class Schedule for our hours. If you call outside of class hours please call 707-799-7653 and leave a detailed message with your name and phone number and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

What are the age requirements?

Ages 18 years of age and older must sign a release of liability waiver prior to dancing. Sorry, but due to insurance restrictions no one under 18 may attend classes.

How do I sign up for a class?

Click on one of the registration links on our website to register for all classes and workshops 24/7. If you do not have access to the internet please call 707-799-7653 to register. The only way to guarantee a spot in the class is to prepay for it with a punch card, reserved class package or one time single class fee. Punch cards expire 6 months from the purchase date. Can I just drop in on a class?

You can drop in on any beginner class. However, we can not guarantee you a spot in the class unless you preregister. Or save a little money and purchase a drop in class punch card. This allows you to come to classes when it fits YOUR schedule. Great for those who are not able to attend a full session. Prior iCandy class experience is required to drop in on intermediate and advance classes.

What is the class cancellation/workshop policy?

We do not offer make-up classes, no exceptions. For punch cards, if you book a class and do not cancel online or by phone with 3 hours notice then the class you missed will count against your total available punches. Missed workshops can not be rescheduled. If 24 hours prior notice is given your workshop deposit will be held for a future date or the amount paid may be applied to a class package. We do not offer monetary refunds under any circumstance.

How do I use my Groupon voucher?

First, create an account with iCandy by clicking here. Then call 707-799-7653 to have your class/party credits loaded into your online account. Once we’ve done this you can register for classes. Our normal business hours are during classes, workshops and parties. Please check the schedule for dates and times.

We suggest registering at least the day before the class you want to attend. Some of our classes do fill up. We wouldn’t want you to drive all the way here to find out the class is full.

For those using the Party vouchers please call as soon as you know the date you’d like to book your party. Our parties are typically scheduled on Saturday and Sundays. Each Party voucher is for 10 dancers. Each additional dancer is $10.

How do I set up a party?

Email info[at]icandysonoma.com with dates you are interested in to schedule your party. We will get back to you with available dates and times. Our parties are typically scheduled on Saturdays. We require a 50% non-refundable deposit with the balance due day of the event. We offer Pole, Chair/Pole and Chair Tease parties for all occasions.

What is your party cancellation policy?

For 1.5 hour parties, parties arriving more than 20 minutes late will result in a cancellation of the party. For 1 hour parties, parties arriving more than 15 minutes late will result in a cancellation of the party.

Deposits are non-refundable. They are transferable to another party date or class session if notice is given 3 days prior to the party date. Transfer credits must be used within 3 months of the original party date. Groupon vouchers will lose their value if less than 3 days notice is given, party no shows or is canceled twice.

Do you teach a routine in each class?

We teach a distinct routine every two weeks in our Pole Only classes, and a new Chair Tease routine every week. It is best to preregister and join a class on the first day of a session in order to learn all the parts of each routine. Our instructors will not have time to teach the beginning of the routine again if you miss the first half of the dance. When viewing our online calendar schedule click the day and time you would like to register. It will have a (1) or (2) next to the class title. The (1) indicates the 1st day of the dance and the (2) indicates the 2nd day of the dance.

What class should I start with if I’ve never taken a pole class?

We recommend taking our Pole Techniques class. This class is perfect for those that have never been to a class or for those who just want to polish their skills. No routine is taught in this class. Instead this class will break down all of the basic skills that build our beginner level routines including movement around the pole, transitions, hand positioning, and spin basics. There will be SHORT FOCUSED combinations of the techniques taught in each class, so that you can come out confident and ready to take on a full routine.

How do I get extra practice time?

We offer drop in Open Studio on Mondays for Silks and Lyra and Thursdays for Pole and Silks, which give you the opportunity to practice while an instructor is on-site to answer any questions you may have. Another way to get extra practice is to schedule a private lesson as an individual or get a group together for a reduced per person rate.

How do I order my own pole?

We have a limited stock on hand of permanent poles for purchase. All other poles, including removable poles, are special ordered and delivered direct to your house. Prices are based on the height of your ceiling. The average price is $325 plus tax. All poles must be prepaid for. Please carefully measure your ceiling prior to placing your order as all pole sales are final (no refunds or exchanges will be permitted).

Who is it for? Can anyone attend?

Our classes are for those looking to have a great time while working out.  We welcome all fitness levels to our beginner pole and aerial classes.  Our Intermediate and Advanced pole and aerial classes are for those with previous experience. All of our our fitness and dance classes are open to any fitness and dance level, no prior dance experience is necessary. We want each dancer to gain strength, confidence in a safe and fun environment.  See below for age requirements.

What do I wear?

For dance classes, we suggest dancers wear comfortable “workout clothing” but you can wear whatever you want to feel confident and sexy. We ask that all metal rings and bracelets be removed before class. Part of our class fee includes the use of our “training wheel” stilettos. Students are also welcome to bring their own shoes or participate in bare feet.

For aerial classes, wear fitted pants/leggings and a shirt that covers your armpits. No tank tops please.

For more class specific dress suggestions please check the Class Description for your class of interest.

I have never danced before, I have no rhythm, is that okay?

Prior dance experience is not necessary.  iCandy will help teach you how to dance both on and around the pole, that’s why we’re here.

What music do we dance to?

We use pop, rock and exotic music to dance to.

I’m scared, nervous about dancing in front of other girls.

iCandy is a beautiful, safe and supportive environment for everyone. Our classes are for everyday women. iCandy is for the working women, housewives, soccer moms, college students etc. It is our goal to make every class/party a wonderful experience for all the dancers.  But don’t take our word for it, check out what our students have to say!
