When Heather was looking for ways to lose weight before her wedding, she wasn’t expecting that she’d actually enjoy it. Eleven months later, just one month before her big day, she’s at the point where if she loses any more weight, she won’t fit into her dress.
Before joining iCandy, Heather was working out at a normal gym. “I didn’t enjoy it. I always felt like when walked in, I was overly judged by everyone there,” she says. “But the first time I came here, it was such a welcoming atmosphere. Everyone was supportive and encouraging; it was a huge change from an actual gym.”
In addition to the welcoming environment, Heather also found she actually began to enjoy working out. “It’s fun to do it with a group, rather than by yourself,” she says. Her favorite class is TurboKick: “It’s kind of like kickboxing and dancing combined, so you can punch all your aggression out and have fun at the same time.”
Not only has Heather kicked butt – or rather, TurboKicked butt – in losing weight, but she’s also improving her Pole Fitness game, too. She just learned how to get upside down on the pole. “It was nerve-racking, but so amazing once I got it. I never thought I’d have enough strength to do that, period, and it was just a shock to me that I did.” Heather’s interested in advancing her pole skills, but is wisely waiting until after her wedding to avoid bruises, AKA “Pole Kisses.”
Heather Camacho, iCandy instructor and BeachbodyLIVE Ambassador, loves having Heather in class. “Heather is determined, dedicated, and committed to her fitness goals. She comes to classes ready to work, sweat, and have a good time! I have noticed Heather’s fitness level – cardio, strength, coordination, and confidence – increase tremendously since she started taking classes. She wanted to get in shape for her wedding, but her overall transformation has been incredible. In fact, she hopes to one day become an instructor in a fitness format! She is fun, funny, and I love having her in class.”
The wedding is in a few weeks, but Heather knows she’ll still be a regular at iCandy once the wedding is over. “The goal was to lose weight, but I found something completely different: a passion for fitness,” she says. “I want to work just to better my life rather than just to look good in a wedding dress. It’s because of the supportive and encouraging instructors, atmosphere, and students; they’ve created something that is wonderful to come to every day.”
